Subject:  NEW INSTRUCTION FOR IMPORTED CARGOES INTO SAUDIA ARABIA

 

Pls be informed that the new instruction of all cargoes imported into Saudia Arabia & Riyadh port as follows:

 

A)Marking of Country of Origin on all cargoes into Saudia Arabia (Jeddah / Damman / Riyadh)

 

The Saudia Customs Authority has given strict directives that all cargoes imported into Saudia Arabia (Jeddah / Damman / Riyadh) must have Country of Origin / Made in XXX (XXX refers to Country of origin) engraved / affixed in non-removable sticker on each item and also to be printed on the boxes / cartons inside the container with effective 1st February 2009.

 

-          The Certificate of Origin must also mention the the Made in XXX (Country of Origin).

 

-          If cargoes are not affix with the Made in XXX stickers, cargoes have to be returned to POL w/o any pre-notice.

 

B)Palletized Cargoes into Riyadh port

 

As per circular from Saudi Railway Organization(SRO), all cargoes imported into Riyadh must be palletized.

There will be penalty of SR 1000/teu (USD 267) and SR 1500/Feu (USD 400) if cargoes are found to be un-palletized which will be under shpprs' account with effective 25th February 2009.

 

C)Details for import to Dammam & Riyadh – Saudia Arabia

 

As a lot of imports to Dammam & Riyadh are not clearing by the consignee, Dammam port made compulsory full

style details of consignee or notify party in order to discharge the same at Dammam details has be uploaded in Saudi

Edi 24 hours prior vessel arrival at Dammam port or else it will not be allowed to discharge.
