NEW CUSTOMS REGULATIONS FOR COLOMBIAN
SHIPMENTS WEF 01/12/2008
With the new
customs regulation in
SHIPPER: Complete Name, address, City and Country
CONSIGNEE: Name, NIT – the number that legally identifies
the company in
CARGO DELIVERY CONDITIONS: Once cargo arrives
to
DESCRIPTION: Full cargo description, volume and number of
pieces must be provided. Detailed
description of the goods ( The following descriptions will not be allowed
anymore: Various Goods, Goods according to commercial invoice, miscellaneous
goods, goods in general, goods according to register, dry cargo, non hazardous
goods or cargo, perishable or non perishable goods, cargo for department
stores, bulk, bull goods)
FREIGHT: Must reflect the Freight in USD only.
DG CARGO: If cargo is HAZARDOUS, complete IMCO/UN
information and emergency contact no. must be provided.
GROSS/NET WEIGHT: Must be in Kilograms.
IMPORTANT: All
B/L amendments only can be accepted before 48 hours of vessel arrives at
Colombian Ports. Once B/L information has been submitted to COLOMBIAN CUSTOMS, they
will not accept changes nor corrections. If a shipment is rejected by customs,
cargo will not be able to unload the vessel and all the responsibility/extra
expenses will be under customers owns’ account.
